The track was dry with a temperature of around 22°C when the drivers took to the Magny-Cours circuit for the Qualifying session of the fourth round of the French F4 Championship.
Currently 5th in the overall standings, Louis Iglesias showed that you have to be fast into action while getting your tyres up to the right temperature, as the young FFSA Academy hopeful took pole position in the opening minutes of the session with a time of 1:39.892. He was the only driver to break the 1.40 barrier! In the next lap, Rayan Caretti and Rafaël Perard managed to close in on the pole sitter with times of 1:40.068 and 1:40.087 respectively. Once again, these positions remained unchanged.
A few minutes later, Jules Roussel moved into 4th position ahead of Roméo Leurs and, more importantly, ahead of his Championship rival, Alex Munoz. Malo Bolliet set his fastest lap at the very end of the session to take 7th place ahead of Monaco’s Matteo Giaccardi. Guillaume Bouzar put in two good laps to move up to 9th ahead of Arthur Dorison, who will have the privilege of starting 1st in Race 2 (reversed grid for the top 10 in Qualifying).
While Iglesias will start Race 1 from pole position, it was Jules Roussel who set the fastest second lap in 1:40.161, securing the top spot on the grid for Race 3. He will be joined by Rafaël Perard, with Rayan Caretti and Louis Iglesias behind him.
